Key takeaways

  • A 4 lb radar launch monitor that sits 10 ft behind the ball, on the target line, and reports 16 ball and club data points, with a built-in camera recording each swing.
  • Full Swing lists it at $4,999. The Full Swing app is free; Full Swing lists a $99-a-year Premium app tier and $499 a year for its Full Swing Golf for KIT simulator software.
  • Indoors, Full Swing calls for 8–10 ft behind the ball plus 8–10 ft of ball flight, and its own studio packages specify at least 18 ft of room depth.
  • Battery life is about 5 hours, and a full charge can take up to 5 hours.
  • One reviewer found indoor chips and pitches under 40 yards unreliable and reports that it does not track putts.

The Full Swing KIT is a portable launch monitor from Full Swing, the simulator company that also supplies technology to the TGL indoor golf league. It launched in late 2021, and Full Swing markets it with Tiger Woods and Jon Rahm. The KIT pairs a 24 GHz dual-mode radar with a camera and a small OLED screen. It sits behind the golfer, looking down the target line, and works outdoors or in a home simulator. This page sets out what Full Swing publishes about it, what costs extra, how much room it needs, and what reviewers report.

Who this product is for

It fits a buyer who wants radar-measured ball and club data with automatic swing video in a 4 lb unit, and has 10 ft of space behind the ball outdoors or about 18 ft of room depth indoors. Simulator course play comes from separately licensed software, and a reviewer reports that saved history sits in the $99-a-year app tier.

It does not fit a buyer who has less than about 18 ft of room depth indoors, needs putts tracked, needs reliable short-game data indoors under about 40 yards, or wants a built-in simulator with no extra software. Those limits are from Full Swing’s published requirements and from reviewer testing.

We report what the product does and where it falls short. Which of those trade-offs matter is your call.

$4,999 is Full Swing’s own price, checked 15 September 2026. The Amazon price may differ; confirm it on the listing. App and simulator subscriptions are billed separately. We earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you, and it does not affect what we report.

Documented strengths

  • 16 data points with no unlock fee: carry and total distance, spin rate and axis, face angle, face to path, attack angle, launch angle, ball and club speed, smash factor, club path, horizontal angle, apex height, and side carry and side total.
  • Records each swing on a built-in 1080p, 60 fps camera, and shows data on a 5.3-inch Full HD OLED screen on the unit.
  • Small and light: 10.23 × 6.57 × 2.32 in and 4.0 lb, with a water- and impact-resistant carrying case.
  • About 5 hours per charge from an 8000 mAh battery, and USB-C charging.
  • Works with the free Full Swing app on iPhone, iPad and, since September 2025, Android. It also works with GSPro, e6 Connect and Full Swing Golf for KIT.
  • Full Swing says Titleist balls with Radar Capture Technology (RCT) need less ball flight to measure spin indoors.
  • 12-month warranty for units bought from Full Swing or an authorized reseller, excluding drops, impacts and abuse, and a 30-day return window when bought from Full Swing.

Documented drawbacks

  • Space: it has to sit 10 ft behind the ball. Indoors, Full Swing’s own studio packages call for a minimum of 18 ft of depth, 12 ft of width and a 9 ft ceiling with a 10 ft screen (14 ft wide and 10 ft high with a 12 ft screen).
  • Recurring costs: Full Swing lists its Premium app tier at $99 a year, and one reviewer says session history and shot visuals sit behind it. Full Swing Golf for KIT costs $499 a year, and GSPro is licensed separately.
  • Short-game indoors: one reviewer found chips and pitches under 40 yards gave odd spin, spin-axis and carry numbers, or did not register, even with RCT balls. Early owner reports on a simulator forum described over-read wedge spin, and said the KIT was not yet ready for indoor use, before Full Swing’s indoor firmware updates.
  • No putt tracking, according to the same reviewer. Full Swing’s help center has auto-putt settings for simulator play.
  • The same reviewer found no way to set a range-ball type outdoors.
  • Charging can take up to 5 hours, and the manual says to use only the supplied charger and cable.
  • Heat: the unit warns when its battery reaches 127°F and shuts down at 131°F, and the manual warns that the surface can get hot enough to burn.
  • Full Swing’s own pages are not fully consistent. The specs page still lists iOS-only compatibility, and retailers describe the camera and screen as “4K”, which Full Swing’s specs do not support.

What it is

The KIT is a flat, upright unit, 10.23 inches tall, 6.57 inches wide and 2.32 inches deep, weighing 4.0 lb. A rear leg folds out to stand it up, which makes it 3.74 inches deep. Inside are a patented 24 GHz dual-mode radar that Full Swing says uses machine learning, a 1080p 60 fps camera, a dual-core processor, an 8000 mAh battery, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. The 5.3-inch OLED screen shows shot data without a phone, and the Full Swing app adds video, history and settings. A rubber-covered USB-C port on the left side is used for charging. Data can also be shown on an Apple Watch or read aloud through Bluetooth headphones, and the radar frequency can be changed when several units are used near each other. The box contains the unit, a carrying case, a charging cable and a charger.

Full Swing KIT size and key specs The KIT measures 10.23 by 6.57 by 2.32 inches, 3.74 inches deep with its rear leg extended, and weighs 4.0 pounds. It uses 24 GHz dual-mode radar and a 1080p 60 fps camera, has a 5.3-inch Full HD OLED screen, an 8000 mAh battery lasting about 5 hours, USB-C charging of up to 5 hours, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0, and 16 data points. It warns at a battery temperature of 127 F and shuts down at 131 F, and tolerates splashes and dust but not submersion. Room and setup

Full Swing’s user guide says to extend the rear leg fully and place the KIT on level ground 10 ft directly behind the ball, in line with the target. The target line can be shown in the app or on the unit’s screen. The guide warns that hitting from off the target line, or with something in the radar’s way, can lose or distort data. Outdoors, Full Swing gives no further distance requirement.

Indoors, Full Swing’s KIT FAQ calls for 8–10 ft of ball flight to the screen or net as well as 8–10 ft behind the ball. Its KIT Studio packages, which start at $11,500, spell out minimum room sizes: 18 ft long, 12 ft wide and a 9 ft ceiling for the 10 ft screen, or 18 ft, 14 ft and 10 ft for the 12 ft screen. Retailer figures vary; one lists 16 ft of depth. Full Swing says RCT balls help it read spin in the shorter indoor flight.

Software and subscriptions

All 16 data points are available without a subscription, on the unit and in the free Full Swing app. Full Swing’s Studio FAQ lists a Premium app tier at $99 a year; the older user guide says it is bought through the App Store. As of Golfible’s review, Premium held session history, shot visuals and the virtual range, though Full Swing’s 2025 Android announcement lists a 3D virtual range among the app’s features without naming a tier. The same FAQ lists Full Swing Golf for KIT, the company’s own 15-course software, at $499 a year; the KIT page says it comes with KIT Studio PC packages and a subscription is required. For third-party play, Full Swing names GSPro (PC) and e6 Connect (iPhone/iPad), sold separately. The Studio FAQ mentions free e6 Connect gameplay for Studio buyers. GSPro is licensed by its own maker. The Full Swing app launched on Android on 8 September 2025. Full Swing’s specs page and older user guide still list only iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.

What reviewers and owners report

Reviewers describe setup as quick and value the automatic swing video. Golfible’s review found it reliable on the course and range. The same review found several limits:

  • Indoors, chips and pitches under 40 yards gave odd spin, spin-axis and carry readings, or did not register, even with RCT balls.
  • Putts are not tracked.
  • There is no range-ball setting.
  • History and shot visuals sit behind the $99 tier.

On the Golf Simulator Forum, early owners in 2021–22 reported wedge spin over-read by roughly 900–2,300 rpm, and one said the KIT was not yet ready for indoor use. Full Swing has since released indoor-accuracy updates, including RCT ball support in December 2022. We have not tested the KIT ourselves.

The trade-offs to weigh

  • Radar-behind-the-ball against room depth. Sitting behind the golfer keeps the unit out of the hitting area; a reviewer notes it does not need moving between left- and right-handed golfers. It also needs 10 ft of floor behind the ball, and Full Swing’s studio packages need 18 ft in total.
  • Free data against paid extras. All 16 data points come without a fee. History, visuals and Full Swing’s own course software are subscriptions.
  • Long-game tracking against short-game indoors. Radar follows full shots in flight. Reviewers report weaker results on short indoor shots and no putt tracking.

Questions buyers ask

How much room do I need indoors?

Full Swing’s KIT FAQ says 8–10 ft behind the ball plus 8–10 ft of ball flight to the screen or net. Its KIT Studio packages specify minimums of 18 ft of depth, 12 ft of width and a 9 ft ceiling with a 10 ft screen, or 18 ft, 14 ft and 10 ft with a 12 ft screen.

Does it need a subscription?

Not for the 16 data points, which show on the unit and in the free Full Swing app. Full Swing lists a Premium app tier at $99 a year and its Full Swing Golf for KIT simulator software at $499 a year. Third-party simulators have their own terms.

Does it track putting?

One reviewer reports that it does not. Full Swing’s help center includes auto-putt settings for its studio software and GSPro.

Does it work with Android?

Yes, according to Full Swing’s September 2025 announcement of the Android app, which pairs with the KIT. Older KIT documentation lists iOS devices only.

Do I need special golf balls?

Full Swing does not say they are required. It says Titleist balls with Radar Capture Technology let the KIT measure spin with less ball flight, which matters indoors.

Is it the same technology used in TGL?

Full Swing is TGL’s Official Technology Partner, and TGL lists KIT units among the launch monitors in its arena.

Does it work for left-handed golfers?

The KIT sits behind the ball on the target line rather than beside it. Golfible’s review notes that it does not need to be moved when left- and right-handed golfers take turns.
